The distribution cabinet is the central hub for shipboard power distribution and ensures the normal operation of all equipment. No unauthorized personnel may operate the switches on the cabinet.
After starting the generator set, manually accelerate it slowly using the power panel's speed-up switch until the generator reaches normal operating conditions and the voltage and frequency reach the specified values before closing the circuit breaker to supply power.
Once the distribution cabinet is in power distribution mode, do not arbitrarily operate the power panel's speed-up switch. The interlocking switch of the air circuit breaker should not be used except in emergencies.
When operating generators in parallel, strictly follow the paralleling conditions and regulations. Be aware of reverse power (reverse current) and paralleling failure.
When shutting down, first disconnect the generator load, then stop the generator under no-load conditions. Do not stop the generator directly under load.
When switching to shore power, first disconnect all power switches on the shore power panel, then check the wiring and phase sequence for correctness. Only after confirming correctness can the ship-to-shore power conversion be implemented. Operation under load is strictly prohibited.
The distribution cabinet should be cleaned and maintained regularly to ensure the equipment is always in good working order.
When the generator is running, the engine room personnel should concentrate and operate the distribution panel with caution to prevent accidents; otherwise, they will be held personally responsible for the accident.
The charging and discharging panel is the ship's emergency power distribution panel. The on-duty engine room personnel should frequently check its working status to ensure sufficient low-voltage power at all times and monitor the operation of the magnetic saturation regulator through the instruments on the panel.
During normal navigation, all switches on the distribution panel should be in the ON position to ensure the generator can be started at any time and can be put into use immediately in case of emergency.
All members of the ship's crew are expected to strictly abide by the above points.
